Ilo Ilo is a touching story between a Filipino
maid an a 10 year old boy with his family during the 1997 financial
crisis in Singapore.
I can totally relate myself to the 10 year old boy in this movie. This movie really brought back lots of
memories when I had my first Filipino maid during my childhood days;
the initial meeting, the journey and the departure of her. I can feel
the happiness when both of them are interacting with each other, and the
heartbreaking moment when the maid has to go back to her hometown due
to the financial crisis. I was so into the movie myself that I can
totally picture myself as that 10 year old boy in the movie.
I believe anyone who has gone through the same relationship can relate themselves to it.
I still miss you, Auntie Laura.
Nearly before knock off time, Edwin whatsapped me asking how am I and stuff. After exchanging a few conversations, we decided to meet up for dinner. I drove to Singapore Post to pick him up at the taxi stand and we headed off to Sushi Tei East Coast Park for dinner.
After work today, I went to meet up with Joel at Causeway Point for dinner at Ajisen Ramen. After dinner, we headed over to The Coffee Bean to help him setup his business via ACRA and Bizfile. The startup was successful! That was the first time I have used the website to setup a business name. Haha... After that, we headed home.
After work on Friday, I headed home have a little dinner and rested until 11pm before I go and fetch Baby from home and headed to Winnie's house for mahjong. I was suppose to take over Baby after awhile but I overslept instead. Lol.. After the game ended, both of us headed home to rest.
Later in the afternoon, we got prepared and then left home to East Coast Sushi Tei for late lunch. After lunch, we went to meet up with Caleb at Republic Polytechnic and queued up to watch a performance "Party TIll The End 2013". After the show ended, we headed over to Northpoint Xin Wang to have a later dinner. After which, we all headed home to rest for the day.
On Sunday, we got prepared and headed out for lunch at the airport. After lunch, we headed down to Tampines Mall to catch "Elysium" since we had nothing to do until 6pm because Baby need to attend a family dinner after that. After the movie, we went to get flowers and then headed down to Baby's Mother's shop to get the cake and then I dropped Baby off at the restaurant. After which, I headed home.
Yours Sincerely
