I was wrong...
First day of CPA exam commences today...
This year, Singapore celebrates SG50; 50 years of independence. Singapore has come a long way under Mr. Lee's guidance and mentor that makes what Singapore is now today, and being known to be a prosperous country worldwide. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew never stopped fighting to build his beloved nation, before and after the separation from Malaysia. He decided that someone needs to take reign of this small nation and he did not hesitate to step forward to ascend this throne. He has done where no one has possibly done to transform this, once a kampong nation, to a glorious first world country as we all know today. It is a very real pity that he could not make it to celebrate SG50 with his dear Singaporeans, which I believe that he had tried his best to pull through. However, God has decided to lower his hand to Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and guide his soul up to heaven on that fine day, 23 March 2015. I believe that without him, there will not be the MBS, Gardens by the Bay, MRT, high-rise HDB flats, and many other entertainment places; most importantly, without him, you and I may not even exist in this nation we call home. Singapore is able to celebrate her SG50 golden jubilee and with the biggest ever fireworks display this year, it is many thanks to this one man Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.I believe you and your beloved wife is somewhere more tranquil and peaceful. But I know that no matter how far you are away from home, you are still watching over Singapore and giving your utmost blessing to this wonderful nation that you have created for the past 50 years.Happy SG50 National Day!SG50 National Day Fireworks & Tribute to Mr. Lee Kuan Yew
When will MOE officially hire me?
I reported to work as usual today. The network seems to have some problems today as quite a few cases surfaced in the school. However, the network problems are able to be solved.
Today, the students had to complete a survey by MOE in regards to what they think about their school. We all had an earlier lunch today so that we can get prepared for them to do the survey after lunch hours. After setting up the classroom, the personnel from MOE came shortly after and then the students entered the classroom.
After this batch of students got dismissed, the MOE personnel left, not knowing that there is one more class after this for the survey. Shortly after, the next class arrived and got seated. The teacher asked us to invigilate the process but it was not in our jurisdiction. Hence, the teacher called the HOD of IT for advice. In the end, my colleague and I decided to take over. We briefed the students on how to go about completing the survey. It was the last class, so after them, we left the classroom.
Today, I am posted to St. Anthony Canossian Secondary School to have hands on training with the staff here. I will be attached here until 6th Sept, and when I looked at the calendar, 6th Sept is actually a Saturday. So does that mean I will need to come to school on a Saturday?? We can only wait and see.
Let's see... First day here, I helped out a few tasks in the morning and early afternoon. After which, I have practically nothing to do. That's why I am here in my blog blogging. Later, I need to head for class.
It will be another long day today, and I am starting to feel sleepy this week. Yawnz...!
Both of them arrived at my place and we set off from my place to JB. We headed to City Square to have late lunch at a Japanese restaurant upstairs and bought our movie tickets for "Need for Speed". After the movie, we headed down to Man Zhu Shuang to have a our feet massaged. It was really painful lah!! I guess I didn't do it for like so long? After that, we headed across the road to Old Town Cafe to have a little cuppa and slacked there for awhlie before heading home.
After a tiring day of prawning yesterday, we headed down to USS today for some fun. :)
After both of them knocked off, we met up at Plaza Singapura Starbucks for a cuppa before heading up to Suki-ya to have our dinner. The soup was really delicious!! After that, we headed down to ECP Starbucks for another cuppa again before heading home. Hahaha!!
In the evening, I went to pick Betty and Jesslin up and headed to ECP for dinner at Old Town Cafe, ordered quite a lot of food. Hahaha.. After dinner, we walked over to the nearby Starbucks and had a cuppa before heading down to Punggol to do some prawning. For that 2 hours of prawning, we only managed to catch 3 prawns with 2 rods. How pathetic is that!! -.- But the shop owner was nice enough to give us a few more prawns after the session, seeing us so pathetic... Hahaha... Grilled the prawns and ate them. After that, we headed home as it was really late.
It was a fun day with Michelle and Rachel at JB today. I went to pick both of them up and then used the Tuas checkpoint to head into JB because we are planning to have some seafood for dinner. Upon reaching, we ordered our food and ate slowly as it was still early. After that, we headed over to KSL and watched a movie "Non-stop". After movie, we drove down to Taman Sentosa to have Mee Tai Mak for supper, and then walked over to Old Town Cafe and sat down to chit chat before heading home.
It was a fun gathering from the current and past CPL people at Sherry's place. Next gathering; Tricia's place for BBQ! :P
After a stressful work today(I am not gonna elobrate on it), I left in a rush and prepared to meet up with Betty and Jesslin. Halfway through the journey, Betty called me saying that her shoe tore. I was like: "Sampat max!!". As she need to go back home to change her shoes and she has to walk all the way from the MRT back home, she suggested to ask me fetch her from her house instead of the initial destination at Vivocity.
After picking her up, we headed down to Vivocity Giant's pick up point and picked up Jesslin and Betty's friend, May. We drove into Sentosa and parked at Beach station before taking the tram down to RWS to catch the musical "Lightseeker". We headed straight to the theatre without dinner as it was nearly show time. So we headed in and I bought a nachos combo to snack throughout the show. There was a 20 minute interval break, so the girls went to the toilet and bought their own snacks. While Jesslin came back to her seat, she fell as she tried to settle down on her seat. Another Sampat max!! Hahahahaha... Now she is complaining her back and neck is hurting. After the show, we took the tram back to Beach station while May took the tram towards Vivocity as she wanted to head home instead of having dinner-cum-supper with us. We drove down to Makansutra and had a little meal of Chilli Stingray, Satay and Carrot Cake. We sat for quite awhile chatting and gossiping. Hehe, after that, I drove them home and headed home.
After work on Friday, I went home to slack for awhile before heading over to Baby's place and stayed for the night. The next day, Baby was reluctant to go out even to have lunch. -.- I have to do some persuasion before we manage to get out of the house for lunch. I drove to Red Star Restaurant to have dim sum, I had the craving for it so we headed there. Hahaha... After lunch, I sent Baby home and I headed back home while waiting for Joel to be done with his shopping at Haji Lane. I went to picked him up around 7pm+ and we headed down to Marina Bay Sands for dinner at the food court before walking over to the club to attend a fashion show. After the show, we headed down to Ang Mo Kio Macs to chill and have a little supper before heading home.
After work today, I met up with L and Keybin for dinner at Menya Musashi for ramen.
My recent craving? Ramen... hahaha
After dinner, we walked around the shopping mall and decided to have a little dessert at the Taiwanese dessert store at the top floors. After which, we headed home.
2013 has been a really tough and challenging year for me. I had to tackle my final year degree study while working at the same time. Not to mention that this year alone, I had the most number of job-hops for over a span of 1 year; being it self or company decision, intentional or unforeseen. As of my current status, I am still in search of a good working place and environment that I can stay on for the rest of my life and build up my career from there. The most memorial work experience I have garnered this year, which is also the longest working period for 2013, will be in Ascendas. During my 7 months stay there, I have met many wonderful people and made some awesome friends. But the journey there is not always smooth sailing; this the first job in my life where almost everything is our my control and jurisdiction. I had the control on how I want to work and how I communicate with my clients, perhaps that's why I could say I am happy in this working environment where micro-management does not seem to exist and I can do my work diligently and happily. I can also say that I had one of the nicest boss around in this company. But unfortunately, due to business restructuring, my whole department had to be told to leave. It is really sad that I had to leave from a nice working place, but life goes on.
My wish for 2014? Wishing myself luck on finding the career and working environment that I long for and hope that I will meet up with awesome colleagues like the ex-Ascendians and have a long journey ahead in my work career.
Not to mention; you, whom have been my mental support for the past one year+. :)
Happy New Year, everyone!!
After work on Friday, Winnie asked who wanted to play mahjong and I obliged. David, Jona, Joseph and me headed down to Winnie house. I was the last to arrive so they started first. After a round, I took over David's seat and played all night through until morning; and I won $5. Lol =X
I headed home to chill for awhile before heading out to school to have a little session with my lecturer in regards to my school assignment. After that, I headed home and planned to take a nap.
The moment I was awake, I saw it was 11:45pm on the clock! I messaged Baby that I will be going over and got prepared. Upon meeting, we went to have a little drive before heading back to turn in for the night.
The next morning, we woke up and waited for Mabel to arrive as she planned to do a recording in Baby's room. After a long session, it was done and we headed out while Mabel went to meet her friend for dinner. We headed down to NEX Cafe Cartel to have dinner as Baby wanted to have ribs. After the ribs' dinner, we headed over to the office for awhile before I sent Baby home.
:)
On Friday night, I over to pick Baby up at the friend's birthday party and then Baby went home to bathe and pack up before we headed to Grand Paragon Hotel, JB. It was quite a jam before we reached our hotel. We checked in and turned in for the night.
Love ya~
I went for an interview at Challenger in its main office in Ubi. Everything seems fine to me. After that, I met up with Juliena and her husband at JCube to have lunch at Mahatten Fishmarket. After that, I headed home and napped for awhile. I dreamt of winter again.
After the nap, I woke up and headed to school and then headed home again.
After work on Friday, I went over to Winnie's house to have a few rounds of mahjong until 4am before going home to rest.
After work on Friday, I went over to Baby's place to stay for the night.
The next day, we got prepared and then headed out for lunch at Upper Thomson; we had chicken rice. After that, we headed down to Night Safari to explore since Baby hasn't been there before. We explored until it was 10-ish before heading home.
On Sunday, we got prepared and headed down to Upper Thomson again to send Bebe for a groom. After which, I planned to drive down to Red Star Dim Sum for lunch. But when I looked at the time, i changed my mind and decided to have lunch at Sushi Tei: East Coast Park instead. After the late lunch, we headed down to Tampines One because Baby need to attend an opening ceremony for a cousin's new clothing shop. After that, we went back down to Upper Thomson and picked Bebe up. Baby spotted a tick on Bebe's head and we removed it forcefully to prevent any complications. After which, we headed down to Pasir Ris Farmway to buy a few packets of sea water before heading home.
After work today, I met up with Baby at the office and chilled for awhile before heading out for dinner. We drove down to NEX and had dinner Cafe Cartel because Baby wanted to have the honey-glazed ribs. We ordered the 1-for-1 pasta as well. After dinner, we headed home. :)
After work on Friday, I met up with Baby at Clementi Mall to have dinner first a Ajisen Ramen while waiting for Samantha and David to arrive. We headed up to the KTV Partyworld to get a room first while waiting for the both to arrive. We sang till 12am+ and I fetched David and Baby home while Samantha's husband fetched her home.
The next day, I woke up pretty early and waited for Baby to finish the work related stuff. But Baby headed home without informing me since it was a long day; Baby dozed off in bed after bathing. So after no response from whatsapp, I decided to give a call and Baby picked up; telling me that he's sleeping and to come later at night which I did.
On Sunday, we prepared to go out and headed down to Chinatown to have dim sum at Red Star Restaurant. It was a fulfilling lunch! After that, we lazed in the car thinking what we can do for the rest of the day. We decided on mahjong but Winnie was still sleeping at that point. Hence, I suggested for a movie instead; City of Bones. I booked the movie at The Cathay, so we headed to Plaza Singapura to have a little walk first before going to the movie.
After the movie, we went to have lunch at Pizza Hut, went to shopped at Watsons and I sent Baby home.
:)
Ilo Ilo is a touching story between a Filipino
maid an a 10 year old boy with his family during the 1997 financial
crisis in Singapore.
I can totally relate myself to the 10 year old boy in this movie. This movie really brought back lots of
memories when I had my first Filipino maid during my childhood days;
the initial meeting, the journey and the departure of her. I can feel
the happiness when both of them are interacting with each other, and the
heartbreaking moment when the maid has to go back to her hometown due
to the financial crisis. I was so into the movie myself that I can
totally picture myself as that 10 year old boy in the movie.
I believe anyone who has gone through the same relationship can relate themselves to it.
I still miss you, Auntie Laura.
Nearly before knock off time, Edwin whatsapped me asking how am I and stuff. After exchanging a few conversations, we decided to meet up for dinner. I drove to Singapore Post to pick him up at the taxi stand and we headed off to Sushi Tei East Coast Park for dinner.
After work today, I went to meet up with Joel at Causeway Point for dinner at Ajisen Ramen. After dinner, we headed over to The Coffee Bean to help him setup his business via ACRA and Bizfile. The startup was successful! That was the first time I have used the website to setup a business name. Haha... After that, we headed home.
After work on Friday, I headed home have a little dinner and rested until 11pm before I go and fetch Baby from home and headed to Winnie's house for mahjong. I was suppose to take over Baby after awhile but I overslept instead. Lol.. After the game ended, both of us headed home to rest.
Later in the afternoon, we got prepared and then left home to East Coast Sushi Tei for late lunch. After lunch, we went to meet up with Caleb at Republic Polytechnic and queued up to watch a performance "Party TIll The End 2013". After the show ended, we headed over to Northpoint Xin Wang to have a later dinner. After which, we all headed home to rest for the day.
On Sunday, we got prepared and headed out for lunch at the airport. After lunch, we headed down to Tampines Mall to catch "Elysium" since we had nothing to do until 6pm because Baby need to attend a family dinner after that. After the movie, we went to get flowers and then headed down to Baby's Mother's shop to get the cake and then I dropped Baby off at the restaurant. After which, I headed home.
After work today, I met up with Baby and headed down to Causeway Point to catch "Ah Boys to Men II". But apparently, we couldn't make it in time with the tickets I booked earlier on for the movie. So upon reaching there, we asked if they could change to a later timing in the evening; they obliged and got it changed for us. So we went to have our dinner first at Pizza Hut, and then walked around the mall until it was time for the movie. After the movie, we headed down to JB and checked in to our hotel at Thistle Hotel. The hotel is really nice and looks exquisite.
The next day, we woke up early for breakfast and then headed back to our room and rested for a little while more. Later, we headed down to KSL because Baby wanted to find a shop that sells puzzles but we couldn't find it. So we headed down to Jusco next, but only to find the 1-floor mall rendered with nothing much. Therefore, we headed to AEON mall to have a look. I didn't know such an exquisite mall existed in JB!! The brands are all there... We walked around a little before having dinner at the Che Je Korean Restaurant; the food isn't really that fantastic though. We have to pack some food back cause we over ordered, and headed back to the hotel. We changed to our swimming wear and went to the pool downstairs to have a little fun in the water.. Hahaha... And then we headed to the jacuzzi and sauna for an hour or so before headed back up to our room to rest for the day.
After checking out today, we headed back to Singapore. I dropped Baby off at Buona Vista and I headed home. :)
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY PEEPS!!
It's that time of the year again where couples celebrate their co-existence together. After work today. I went for an interview at Toa Payoh area; a marine firm where it installs surveillance cameras on ships and government statues. After that, I went to pick Baby up at home before heading down to Sushi Tei East Coast Park to have dinner. Boy, the queue was long but luckily we didn't need to wait long to get seated.
After dinner, we headed off somewhere to have a little quiet time together with just the both of us. Before the night ended, we headed home. :)
"Loving you is more than just loving you."
After a rather relaxing work day, I went to meet up with the ex Maybankers for dinner at Changi City Point and chatting up with the old times. :)
Happy New Year 2013!!
People around the world had ushered the new year of 2013, despite believing that the world is gonna end on 21 December 2012.
After a half day work, I went to meet Joseph for lunch at Jurong Point. We had Bakerzin's pasta, and I thought that Bakerzin only sells Macarons. Lol... After lunch, I fetched Jospeh down to The Flyer as he has a countdown performance cum celebration there. After that, I went back home to take some stuff before going over to pick Baby up at his place. Baby suggested to go over to Changi Aurport to have dinner as that is one place where it might not be so crowded due to the countdown celebrations. We headed down to Century Square first because Baby wanted to buy a Samsung charger as his is spoiled, but upon reaching there, the shop was closed at 6pm due to annual stock-take. Zzz... Halfway through the journey, Baby's friend texted him saying that they couldn't make it for the Japanese buffet at his Aunt's restaurant, so Baby suggested to go there for dinner instead. The buffet was good as usual with unlimited servings of Sashimi.. Hehe!! After that, we headed down to East Coast Park to countdown along the shore.
The clock struck 12 and beautiful fireworks could be seen miles away from our location. But along the shore, ships were sounding there horns and shooting up their flares to light the night sky. It was a beautiful sight! This is my first time celebrating the new year in such a tranquil and quiet setting. After that, we headed down to the prawning farm for 2 hours before heading home.
Both of us were so dead tired after that, but it was worth it nonetheless. :)
Yours Sincerely
